Advisory Board Addresses Critical Gaps in Clinical Trials Access, AI Adoption in Clinical Practice, and Measurable Health Equity Outcomes Across Underserved Populations
Los Angeles, CA – HealthStack, a health equity and innovation platform and initiative of AfroTech, the largest platform for diverse technologists, innovators, and wealth builders, today announced the formation of the HealthStack Advisory Board, a cross-sector body of senior leaders convened to accelerate the adoption of digital health infrastructure, AI-driven care delivery, and interoperable health systems in underserved communities.
The Advisory Board unites executives and practitioners spanning medtech, life sciences, clinical informatics, and public health policy, each selected for their track record of translating emerging technology into measurable outcomes at scale. Their collective mandate is to ensure that the most consequential advances in health technology do not bypass the communities that stand to benefit from them most.
HealthStack will leverage the Advisory Board’s expertise to inform its platform strategy, shape industry partnerships, and position diverse technologists at the center of a healthcare system that is increasingly being reimagined from the ground up.
Advisory Board Focus Areas
- Expanding Clinical Trials Access: Increasing representation of underserved and underrepresented populations in clinical trials to ensure research outcomes reflect – and benefit – those most impacted by health disparities.
- Advancing AI in Clinical Practice: Guiding the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence tools that improve patient outcomes and reduce bias in clinical decision-making, with a focus on equitable implementation across diverse care settings.
- Supporting Clinicians and Healthcare Leaders from Underrepresented Backgrounds: Building pathways for career advancement, visibility, and professional development for physicians, nurses, and healthcare executives who have historically been underrepresented in positions of influence.
- Driving Measurable Health Equity Outcomes: Across pillars including Heart and Metabolic Health, Maternal Health, and Food as Care, the Board will hold HealthStack accountable to real-world, measurable change – translating insight into implementation at scale.
Joining the HealthStack Advisory Board are representatives from Sanofi, CVS Health, American Diabetes Association, NAACP, Bayer, BridgeBio, African American Health Coalition, GE Healthcare, and more.
HealthStack exists because AI and emerging technology have created an unprecedented opportunity to accelerate culturally relevant care innovation at scale,” said Morgan DeBaun, Founder and CEO of Blavity Inc. “This Advisory Board brings together leaders who understand that health equity is the defining challenge of modern healthcare and one that collectively benefits us all to solve. Together, we will focus on practical initiatives that expand access, reduce bias, and create real opportunity for the clinicians and innovators driving change from the inside out.”
The HealthStack Advisory Board will convene quarterly to assess the evolving healthcare landscape, share progress on key initiatives, and explore collaboration opportunities with corporate partners, research institutions, and clinical organizations.
